The building was built and furnished by Augustus Spies and presented as a gift to the City of Menominee. It was dedicated March 30, 1905. The exterior does resemble a Carnegie building, but it was in fact designed by an architect from his firm, rather than Carnegie himself. Located at 940 1st St. Menominee, MI 49858
